On April 15, 2026, Microsoft released an update to Windows 11 security measures for Remote Desktop connections to help prevent malicious Remote Desktop connections from getting access to a user’s workstation.
As a result, you may see the following prompt during server login:
NOTE: *.myrealdata.net domain belongs to Ace Cloud Hosting.
What caused this change?
Microsoft has introduced a new prompt in Windows 11 that asks users to confirm whether the Remote Desktop connection they are opening is from a trusted source. If your Remote Desktop connection was set up by ACE during onboarding or with the help of a support representative, it is safe to use. It connects only to the ACE server and is not being accessed by anyone else.
If you are using the same Remote Desktop connection as before, nothing has actually changed—only the way Windows now asks for confirmation before connecting.
What can you do?
During each login, you can select options to redirect your local devices:
- Drives: Enable this if you want to access your computer’s drives on the ACE server.
- Clipboard: Enable this to copy and paste files or text between your computer and the server.
- Printers: Enable this to use your local printers on the ACE server.
