Intuit Releases QuickBooks 2014 with Enhanced Accounting Capabilities

Back in time, Intuit released QuickBooks 2014 version of the Pro, Premier, and Accountant Editions to help clients save time in managing their crucial financial data and hectic work schedule. Unlike the introductions made in the 2013 version of QuickBooks, QuickBooks 2014 brought in a lot of options, especially in the Pro and Premier Versions.

Together with the effort to make accounting simple, this version also introduced smartness in operations with various quick access shortcuts, enhanced GUI for ease of use and many other features.

A Quick View of the ‘4 New’ Features of QuickBooks 2014

Email Enhancements Document attachment is possible from PC, scanner, and Doc Centre. Also, the documents can be dragged and dropped into the Attachment Pane of the software.

Various email templates can be utilized along with the inclusion of ‘Rich Text’ format. One can view the entire conversation history with a client in a separate panel titled ‘Customer Center’.

Income Tracker All the sales estimates and orders, due and unpaid invoices, payment statements, and receipts of payments made can be managed through a single window.

A particular block appears colored along with every piece of information. This box depicts the amount of the transactions in that category.

Account Customization On the home page, one can set the desired color to depict the account related to a company. Various reminders and alerts for payment or collection or receipts can also be set.

One can make industry specific customization with options like advanced pricing, advanced job costing, payroll enhancement, and assembly setup.

Bounced Checks Earlier versions of QuickBooks were not structured to display the bounced checks easily. With the introduction of this new feature, it is easy to cancel the invoice with the bounced check and generate a new invoice for the customer.

QuickBooks Enterprise 14.0 Feature Enhancements over Previous Versions

The QuickBooks Enterprise Edition offered a combination of the enhancements made in Pro, Premier and Accountant Versions. These include:

  • Enhanced Job Costing feature to streamline work-related data specifics
  • Purchase of entities is reduced to a two-click process with automated purchase orders
  • Liberty to add more classes, types of customers, types of vendors, memorized transactions and various other features
  • On-demand tailoring of purchase forms
  • New pricing add-on to customize monthly or annual installments in the desired manner
  • Enhanced email capabilities with ease to attach multiple files, track previous email conversations and tailor the email templates to include client or work details
  • Advanced income tracking system to display all transactions contributing to business income at one place
  • Ease of entering and managing all the transactions in a single place for quick access when desired
  • ‘Client Collaborator’ to seek answers that you ask clients. There is no need to shut QuickBooks down for the process

    Single-click feature to access reports and adding multiple attachments to email were very much required. It seems to have improved a lot with the updated version in QuickBooks 2014.

    I would highly recommend QuickBooks 2014, one of the easiest accounting tools for SMBs. Invoice screen is better than the previous versions. I can clearly compare the previous charges with the customers.
